Pumpkin is on fire this morning. I am a bit worried about her. She is losing some fur, which I thought was from fighting, but she has no injuries. I also think she has lost a little weight, so it may be time for a trip to the vet. She is acting like herself, though, and seems to have plenty of energy.
I was going through my Sunchaser stuff, and found the February 1980 Motor Trend that my wife gave me.
It is a trip back in time, and like an Oppo dream, as I plan to show you in my way back machine. But first! Cool Sunchaser stuff. It has a detailed description of what they did to the frame and floor pan to keep the car from being floppy. Despite losing its roof, it weighs the same as a stock Celica. According to Motor Trend, it performs the same, too.
I want all of these
I never claimed it was a performance car.
In hindsight, most of 1980 was very cool, especially from a 2018 Oppo perspective. Let’s look a little closer.
Well done, 1980! I want to go car shopping and do many test drives in your year! You guys are pretty cool, I had kind of forgotten.
I want to travel America in this van.
My lord, they are so beautiful.
The Bandit needs to go to Home Depot sometimes too.
Apparently, the screaming chicken can go on anything.
Damn, 1980, you have some great cars in your marketplace. Sure would be nice to bring some of these back to 2018.
You guys have louvers??? Louvers are like, an endangered species in 2018!
I know you are laughing, 1980, but Toyota is onto something with these little vans. And electric cars will not always have a 0-60 time over 30 seconds. Trust me.
Should I tell them what is going to happen what is going to happen to Toyota and Honda? Nahh...let ‘em have their fun.
Umm...ok, I guess it is a practical little car. But can I go back and drive that Firebird?
We need to have a talk about this front wheel drive thing, 1980. I mean I like you, but some of your ideas are not the greatest.
Ok, now things are starting to get a little out of hand, 1980.
Ok, 1980, enough is enough. This is some bullshit right here, and I am not having it. Screw this place. C’mon Oppo, these people are crazy. Let’s get back to 2018.

Simba normally loses some fur & weight this time of year too. It probably has to with extreme summer heat.

My Grandfather Bought a 1980 citation based on Motor Trend’s recommendation, he got the 1st one his local dealership got in stock, My Grandmother drove it for 15 years, it was a horrible car, it was the stereotypical little old lady car with 18,000 miles on it in 1995 when she passed away, it was worth $500 .
In short FU 1980 Motor Trend

The El Camino Royal Knight is ok, but I’d much rather have a GMC Caballero El Diablo edition.
I really like 70s and 80s vehicles with massive graphics.

Would love a closeup on that small Lancia Zagato section. I love seeing these reviews from when classic cars were just cars, it helps put things into perspective.

Our Phoebe who looks a little like Pumpkin, about 17, has been slowly losing weight and getting lazier for a couple years. She’s been chewing the fur off her belly and back legs for decades. But vet says not to worry too much about the weight because she’s in very good health otherwise.

Also, man the TR7 was expensive.
